BEYOND THE BASICS
For most students, the Common Application and Essay will be the primary focus of their college application. For others who have specific talents or particular goals, the process requires additional thought and preparation.
For Artists
For students who have a musical or artistic talent, this can be an important addition to your college application. Planning your portfolio of artwork or recording your favorite piece of music should be completed before senior year begins. College Compass will walk you through the steps necessary to submit your Art Supplement with your applications.
For Athletes
Each year College Compass works with several athletes. Any student who wishes to participate in intercollegiate athletics needs to understand the complexities and timeline of college recruiting. Whether you aspire to compete at the highest level of your sport or participate in Division 3 athletics, College Compass will help you navigate through the recruiting process beginning as early as freshman or sophomore year.
For the US Service Academy Candidate
What’s the timeline?
What’s the difference between a nomination and an appointment?
What’s a CFA?
Are there ways to express my interest early on?
College Compass can answer these questions for you and help you manage the extensive requirements for completing both your nomination and academy applications.
For Applicants to Colleges Abroad
College Compass has worked with several students who have applied to college in the UK via the UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) application. The essay expectations are entirely different from those expected by US colleges.
Less often, we work with students applying to colleges in other European countries. College Compass will do research into specific institutions and the specific application details to support our clients.
